Passion and Marriage
نویسنده
چکیده
The author is a believing Christian, who is much puzzled by the fact that "as yet the Christian Church has (not) come to an open and satisfactory solution" of the problem of the dynamic power of man's sexual nature in the context of the New Testament. Indeed, she states that "the eroticism of the normal man has never found a comfortable place within the institution of Christian marriage". With this preamble, one could anticipate a theological discussion, and it is a pleasant surprise to find the author honestly and simply setting out the basis of the problems involved, in a way from which those not interested in theology can still derive much help. Whilst statements occasionally occur which may not be accepted by all readers, or even understood by them?especially when she discusses the Christian view of mysticism arising out of the marriage relationship?nevertheless, this is a valuable contribution to the problems of marriage; especially so for those Christians whose bewilderment she has set out to put right.
